What is Prevent?

Prevent is a UK government-led, multi-agency programme designed to stop people from becoming terrorists or supporting terrorism. As one of the four pillars of the CONTEST counter-terrorism strategy, it focuses on early intervention to support vulnerable individuals susceptible to radicalisation. It covers all forms of terrorism, including Islamist and extreme right-wing.
