More than 1,200 primary schoolchildren acrossTendring are receiving vital advice and guidance on issues that affect theirdaily lives.Revamped Crucial Crew events are being heldonce a week over eight weeks at Bishops Park College in Jaywick Lane, Clacton.
The youngsters take part in three sessionsconcentrating on gangs; healthy relationships and internet safety and grooming.
Three events have been held and five morewill be taking place over the coming weeks.
They have been organised by TendringCommunity Safety Partnership (CSP) and tackle identified priorities.
Lynda McWilliams, Chairman of Tendring CSPand Tendring District Council’s (TDC) Cabinet Member for Health and Education,said the feedback so far has been extremely positive.
“Crucial Crew has been running in Tendringfor many years and the subjects tackled have hardly changed over that time,”she said.
“However, we have tried to freshen things upthis year and look at issues that are very relevant and up to date for childrentoday as well as priorities for the CSP.
“All primary schools in Tendring have beeninvited to take part and most are doing so.”
Reach Every Generation is taking the sessionson gangs; Women’s Aid is leading on healthy relationships and Teen Talk isdealing with internet safety and grooming.
“I would like to thank all those who aregiving up their time to support this important initiative,” added CllrMcWilliams. “We could not do it without them.”
